The current series of paintings and works on paper is a contemplation of the tender and strong human bonds we create which enrich our lives with meaning.

The subtle touch of hands and fingers: the mysterious gaze of loving eyes.
Below the serene, harmonious surface lie tensions and ambiguities. 

The many aspects of love; the sense of belonging and deep human connection; the need
for both intimacy and solitude, are all subjects I’m instinctively drawn to explore in my art. 
In effect they are studies of the inner life. They are personal in nature but are also I hope, universal.   – MW 2018
